The excerpts include portions of responses attributed to Dr. Paul Cronin and Dr. Aine Kelly that were transmitted by email to Dr. Myria Petrou in April 2018. The materials do not appear on the public court docket and are presented here together with related affidavits and contemporaneous Office of Institutional Equity communications.
Nick — Identity and Response
In a sworn affidavit, Dr. Cronin stated that he does not have and has never had a friend named “Nick” or “Nick Bee,” that he has not confided in anyone by that name, and that he is not “Nick” or “Nick Bee.” He further stated that he has not been and is not being extorted.

In answers to the complaint addressing the identity of “Nick,” Dr. Cronin stated that he could not confirm whether a recorded voice matched any colleague, including an individual identified as Nick Reeser, and that he could not under oath state that Nick Reeser was “Nick.”

In responses to the complaint, Dr. Cronin denied allegations that he refused to cooperate with an Office of Institutional Equity (Title IX Office) investigation.

Medical Billing and Reporting
In answers to the complaint, Dr. Cronin stated that the allegation that he informed others of a “fraudulent billing scheme” within the University of Michigan Department of Radiology is factually incorrect and false.

In affidavits, Dr. Petrou and Dr. Foerster state that Dr. Cronin described a fraudulent billing scheme involving the University of Michigan electronic medical record system and requested assistance raising those concerns to the Office of General Counsel, including concerns relating to Dr. Ella Kazerooni, then the direct supervisor of Dr. Cronin and Dr. Kelly.

Russia-Gate Related Statements
In responses to the complaint, Dr. Cronin denied allegations that he described Russian interference in the 2016 election, including statements that Maria Petrou was a Russian spy and that he was involved in such activity.
In affidavits filed in the litigated FOIA appeal concerning the Russia-Gate-related FBI file, Dr. Petrou states that she was not the source of the Russia-Gate statements, while Dr. Foerster states that Dr. Paul Cronin was the source.

Procedural Note
The case was dismissed by Dr. Myria Petrou on April 28, 2018, during a period in which Dr. Petrou was transitioning employment.
