Does Reporting Sexual Assault Result In The University of Michigan Trying to Terminate a Tenured Faculty?
Dr. Myria Petrou tells then University of Michigan Vice-Dean Dr. Carol Bradford (now Dean at Ohio State) and the Ad-Hoc Committee in a recording during the November 2018 5.09 hearings that she made a final decision to resign from the University of Michigan when she revisited Paul Cronin’s statements about “Reed and company” and an unwanted pharmacologic intervention against Myria and Brad’s unborn child in 2017. Dean Runge’s outside attorney Dan Tukel (who was barred in the proceeding per the ByLaws, ignored by the committee) was upset that he could not cross-examine Myria.
Myria’s recording was excluded from the transcript of the proceedings and ignored by the committee, with the committee real time turning around and recommending termination for Dr. Foerster, an unprecedented event at the University of Michigan.
Chair Dr. Kazerooni after reading and accepting Myria’s resignation letter which was addressed in September 2018 to both Drs. Bradford and Kazerooni (with a cc to President Schlissel, Dean Runge and Lead Counsel Tim Lynch) without any questions, along with the Office of General Counsel referred the matter to the University of Michigan police, who conducted a secret investigation without informing Myria and without talking to Brad, Paul Cronin or Reed Dunnick.
To date, the University of Michigan has refused to allow Myria to correct her reproductive medical record at Michigan Medicine despite being instructed to do so by HHS-OCR.
Both Myria and Brad have been practicing in Montgomery County Maryland for more than three years with stellar reviews.
