Maria Petrou Handwritten Note Attributes Later FBI, Merrill Lynch, and Police Issues to Duaa Altaee

The following handwritten note was sent by Dr. Myria Petrou’s mother, Maria Petrou, during the fall of 2024 after Dr. Myria Petrou and Dr. Bradley Foerster asked why so many seemingly inexplicable events involving the University of Michigan and law enforcement had occurred over the years and why there had never been any resolution.

“M.L.” refers to Merrill Lynch.

“If Duaa didn’t come into your life with the mysterious lady, you would not go away from us [Maria and Petros]. So no FBI, no M.L and police.”

— Maria Petrou (fall 2024 handwritten note)

According to the note, Duaa Altaee created a rift in the family which Maria believed later contributed to institutional, financial, and law enforcement issues, including the Merrill Lynch (“M.L.”) account dispute in which Maria alleged to the Ann Arbor Police Department that Dr. Foerster and Dr. Petrou had embezzled funds.

Dr. Foerster and Dr. Petrou, however, note that Duaa and her husband Tarick Seifeddine were repeatedly welcomed into Maria and Petros’ home and were viewed positively by Maria at the time.
