FBI Reports No Administrative Records Relating to Dr. Bradley Foerster for July 2016–January 2017 Russia-Gate FOIA Request
On June 18, 2026, the FBI responded to a Freedom of Information Act request seeking existing administrative records relating to Dr. Bradley Foerster during the period July 1, 2016 through January 20, 2017 in connection with allegations concerning Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election.
The request did not seek investigative files or substantive records. Rather, it sought only existing administrative metadata—including any intake, assessment, referral, or Guardian-entry records—that might document the earliest stages of any FBI involvement.
The FBI stated that it conducted a search of its Central Records System but was unable to identify responsive records for the requested period and closed the request.
The response does not establish when the FBI's acknowledged investigation began. It establishes only that the Bureau did not identify responsive administrative records for the period July 1, 2016 through January 20, 2017 after conducting its search.
Accordingly, the publicly documented chronology of the FBI's involvement remains incomplete as additional records continue to be produced in Foerster v. U.S. Department of Justice, No. 1:25-cv-03277-CJN.
