Notices to Congress and University of Michigan Regarding Pending FBI Records Production (Foerster v. DOJ)
On April 4 and April 5, 2026, formal notices were provided to members of Congress, including Representative Jamie Raskin, followed by University of Michigan leadership and the Board of Regents, regarding the pending production of a 500+ page Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) file in Foerster v. U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Action No. 1:25-cv-03277-CJN.
The notices follow a March 2026 Joint Status Report confirming that federal production is anticipated to begin on or before May 4, 2026, with rolling productions thereafter.
Notice to House Judiciary Committee
Formal notice was provided to the House Judiciary Committee regarding the pending FBI records production in Foerster v. DOJ.
Notice to House Committee on Education and the Workforce
Formal notice was provided to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce regarding matters involving the University of Michigan and related FOIA activity.
Notice to University of Michigan Leadership
Formal notice was provided to University of Michigan leadership, including the Office of General Counsel and executive administration, regarding the pending federal disclosure.
Notice to University of Michigan Board of Regents
Formal notice was provided to the University of Michigan Board of Regents, including Chair Mark Bernstein, regarding University record handling and FOIA disclosure practices in connection with FBI-related materials.
