2024 HHS-OIG FOIA Releases: July 20, 2017 University of Michigan Medical-Billing Complaint Naming Dr. Myria Petrou as Complainant and Dr. Bradley Foerster as Witness
In 2024, HHS-OIG released two differently redacted versions of a July 20, 2017 online complaint concerning University of Michigan radiology billing practices. Together, they identify Dr. Myria Petrou as the named complainant and Dr. Bradley Foerster as a witness. Dr. Petrou did not submit the complaint.
The agency responded to Dr. Foerster’s January 12, 2024 request on February 6 (FOIA No. 24-0309), and to Dr. Petrou’s February 8, 2024 request on May 7 (FOIA No. 24-0384). Each response released two pages with redactions.
Dr. Foerster’s copy shows his name as the witness but redacts the complainant’s identity; Dr. Petrou’s shows her name as the complainant but redacts the witness’s identity. Both bear the timestamp July 20, 2017, at 4:01:17 PM.
After discovering the complaint, Dr. Petrou contacted Dr. Paul Cronin and Dr. Aine Kelly about its submission. The agency response letters and both versions of the intake form appear below. The “Next” link at the foot of this post leads to that correspondence.
