Dr. Bradley Foerster’s FBI File: January 26, 2018 and February 1, 2018 FBI Interview Records of Maria Petrou

Released FBI records document January 26, 2018 and February 1, 2018 FBI interview records later identified through corresponding unredacted University of Michigan records as involving Maria Petrou, mother of Dr. Myria Petrou.

The first record is an FBI Electronic Communication dated January 31, 2018, documenting that a complaint was received on January 26, 2018. In the FBI production, the individual’s name and substantive statement are redacted. The corresponding unredacted University of Michigan version, linked below, identifies the individual as Maria Petrou.

The second record is an FBI FD-302 dated February 2, 2018, documenting a voluntary follow-up interview conducted on February 1, 2018 at the FBI Ann Arbor office. In the FBI production, the individual’s name and the substantive content of the interview are heavily redacted. The corresponding unredacted University of Michigan version, linked below, identifies the individual as Maria Petrou.

These records were produced as part of the FBI “Russia-Gate” FOIA release in Foerster v. U.S. Department of Justice, No. 1:25-cv-03277-CJN.

Previously released unredacted versions of these materials obtained from the University of Michigan are linked below for comparison and archival context.

Despite the heavy redactions in the FBI production, the records confirm direct in-person FBI contact in Ann Arbor during January and February 2018, the existence of at least one formal FBI FD-302 interview memorandum, and a documented follow-up interview shortly after the initial January 26, 2018 contact.
