New York Attorney Grievance Committee Issues Amended Jurisdictional Determination in Matter of Timothy G. Lynch, Esq. (Docket No. 2026.2274)
This morning, the New York Attorney Grievance Committee informed Dr. Myria Petrou that Timothy G. Lynch was not admitted to practice law in New York and transferred her grievance to the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission.
Dr. Petrou responded by submitting the official New York Attorney Directory, which shows that Timothy Gerard Lynch (Registration No. 2823037) was admitted by the Appellate Division, Third Department on May 13, 1997, and is currently registered. She requested clarification of the Committee’s jurisdictional determination.
The Committee responded that the information “does appear to be correct”, advised that the matter had been forwarded to its administrative staff for correction, and confirmed that the grievance had been referred on jurisdictional grounds.
Later that day, the Committee issued an amended determination.
Rather than stating that Mr. Lynch was not admitted to practice law in New York, the amended letter transferred the matter to the Committee on Professional Standards of the Appellate Division, Third Department, explaining that Mr. Lynch was admitted in the Third Department while his office for the practice of law is located in Michigan.
