AAPD Case 17-3517: Maria Petrou Denies Accusing Drs. Bradley Foerster and Myria Petrou of Embezzlement in Sworn Affidavit Following Earlier Requests for Criminal Prosecution (November 27, 2021)
On November 27, 2021, Maria Petrou executed a sworn, notarized affidavit addressing allegations and investigative actions arising from Ann Arbor Police Department Case 17-3517, involving Dr. Bradley Foerster and Dr. Myria Petrou.
The original AAPD investigation , initiated following Maria Petrou's January 23, 2017 complaint, documented financial allegations involving Merrill Lynch accounts and Maria and Petros Petrou's expressed interest in pursuing criminal prosecution.
During an April 2017 recorded conversation with Duaa Altaee , Maria Petrou stated, “What can I do? If they want to go to jail,” while Duaa Altaee responded, “But this is not criminal Maria.”
The June 20, 2017 Dr. Paul Cronin deposition post and accompanying AAPD investigative records document that Maria Petrou initially expressed interest in criminal prosecution of Dr. Foerster and Dr. Petrou, subsequently asked Detective Rougeau to drop the case, and renewed interest in prosecution on June 28, 2017, through attorney Jim Reach.
Sworn Statements Concerning “Nick” and “Nick B”
In the November 2021 affidavit, Maria Petrou stated:
“I do not know who ‘Nick’ or ‘Nick B’ is”
The affidavit also addresses information Maria Petrou stated had been provided by attorney Jim Reach concerning the identity of “Nick” or “Nick B.”
Sworn Statements Concerning the AAPD Investigation
Maria Petrou stated that Detective Bradley Rougeau and the Ann Arbor Police Department had never informed Maria Petrou that arrest-warrant requests had been submitted based on allegations of embezzlement involving Merrill Lynch funds.
Maria Petrou further declared:
“I have never accused Bradley Foerster or Myria Petrou of ‘embezzlement’”
