FBI First Interim Production in Foerster v. U.S. Department of Justice — Executive Summary and Contemporaneous FBI Administrative Records
The FBI’s first interim production in Foerster v. U.S. Department of Justice, No. 1:25-cv-03277-CJN, provided the first substantial production of FBI records in the ongoing federal FOIA litigation concerning Dr. Bradley Foerster’s FBI file.
Following the production, Dr. Bradley Foerster prepared and transmitted an Executive Summary of FBI First Interim Production to Assistant United States Attorney Kimberly Stratton for the record. The summary organizes the released material into the principal investigative and interagency threads reflected in the production, including July 2017 Boston FBI reporting, the 2018 FBI/HHS-OIG interview sequence, Washington, D.C.-area investigative activity, Mueller–Rosenstein correspondence, and University of Michigan-related records.
This post also presents contemporaneous FBI administrative records previously obtained through University of Michigan FOIA. These less-redacted records provide additional detail concerning August 2017 coordination involving the FBI, Ann Arbor Police Department, University of Michigan Office of General Counsel, University of Michigan Police Department, and VA-OIG, allowing portions of the later FBI production to be read alongside records obtained from the underlying investigative period.
